View of cabin No.2. Benson grew buckwheat in the raised beds and then tilled it back into the soil just after the flowers appeared and before the seeds had a chance to set. Buckwheat grows quickly in warm weather and serves as an excellent green manure. The structure behind the raised beds is a composting bin made from hickory saplings. 1990, scanned black & white print, 3 x 5 in. (7.62 x 12.7 cm).  Ozark Series. © 2008 by Allen C. Benson.
