 The Pittsburgh Zoo began more than 100 years ago thanks to a generous donation from philanthropist Christopher Lyman Magee. The Zoo opened its doors to the public on June 14, 1898. This sound recording captures the zooís ambient sound during a visit in fall 2006. Interestingly, all of the sounds are coming from people, not animals. --Allen C. Benson, 2006
