Veterans Day Parade Each year in November the Veterans Day Parade in Pittsburgh starts at Mellon Arena and winds its way through Centre Avenue and Sixth Avenue, and then proceeds down Fifth Avenue into Downtown. The marchers turn left onto Liberty Avenue and the parade ends at the reviewing stand setup near the Pittsburgh Hilton hotel at Gateway Center. It rained during most of the parade in November 2006. I used a Nikon FM2 loaded with Fortepan 100, a grainy, 100 speed black & white film . The images named U.S. Marine and Saluting the Flag were taken using color film. I scanned the color prints and converted them to black & white for this gallery. --Allen C. Benson |
