Allen C. Benson, Doctoral Student, Program in Library & Information Science, School of Information Sciences,
University of Pittsburgh.
My dissertation advisor is Dr. Chris Tomer. The general problem area that interests me is ontological analysis of the
discursive space surrounding photographs. My thesis research focuses on the ontological analysis of
relation types among image entities expressed and understood by image searchers.
I'm also interested in ontology of the photograph, conceptual modeling, and knowledge representation in Scone knowledge-base systems. I perform this work with Dr. Scott E. Fahlman, Carnegie Mellon University.
